Initial Engagement and Orientation
Entering into a parenting evaluation can feel like embarking on a journey of introspection and assessment. Clients begin by meeting with Dr. Lombard to gain clarity on the purpose and process of the evaluation. This initial engagement involves discussing the objectives, timeline, and expectations, as well as addressing any concerns or questions the clients may have. It’s a time for clients to approach the evaluation with an open mind and willingness to participate fully. Proverbs 2:6 reminds believers that “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Clients are encouraged to seek wisdom and understanding as they navigate the complexities of the evaluation process, trusting in God’s guidance.
Evaluation and Reflection
Throughout the evaluation, clients undergo a thorough assessment of their parenting practices, skills, and dynamics within the family. This may involve interviews, observations, and the completion of assessment tools to gather relevant information. Clients are invited to reflect on their parenting strengths, areas for growth, and the impact of their parenting style on their children. It’s a time for honest self-reflection and a willingness to address any challenges or concerns that arise. Ephesians 6:4 advises parents to “not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Clients are encouraged to consider how they can cultivate a nurturing and supportive environment for their children grounded in love and biblical principles.
Integration and Growth
Following the evaluation, clients receive a written report with feedback and recommendations aimed at enhancing their parenting skills and promoting the well-being of their children. It’s an opportunity for clients to integrate the insights gained from the evaluation into their parenting practices and family dynamics. Whether the feedback highlights areas of strength or areas needing improvement, clients are encouraged to approach it with humility and a commitment to growth. Philippians 4:13 offers encouragement, reminding believers that “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Clients are empowered to draw upon their faith and inner strength as they embrace the opportunities for growth and positive change in their parenting journey.
